Automatic Pallet Exchanger – Side Pusher

The “Side Pusher” is one of the fastest pallet exchange solutions, able of handling up to 100 pallets per hour. This solution is ideal for high-production flows and can be customized for specific applications.

Side Pusher Logy

Toppy has developed this equipment with the capability to handle up to 100 pallets per hour. The system executes the load transfer cycle by pushing the load from the source pallet to the target wooden pallet.

This pallet transfer equipment facilitates rapid pallet replacement through our innovative “Side Pusher” system, which can also manage and store the slip sheet.

Typically, we include two pallet stackers with these automatic solutions, one for the source pallet and one for the target pallet, each with a capacity of 15 pallets.

Pallet transfer equipment – Description of the cycle

This pallet transfer equipment can manage many different kinds of pallet. Since we can customize each system, we describe below the necessary steps in order to replace the origin pallet (plastic) with the destination one (wooden pallet):

  • The plastic pallet carrying the load is transported from the customer’s logistics line onto the input roll conveyor and subsequently onto the “Side Pusher” roll conveyor.
  • While the plastic pallet is ready, the first pallet stacker removes the wooden pallet from the roll conveyor.
  • The wooden pallet moves from the roll conveyor to the blade-plate roll conveyor.
  • Thanks to the pneumatic system of the machine, the blade plate moves onto the wooden pallet.
  • Utilizing the hydraulic system of the machine, the “Side Pusher” facilitates the load transfer process. The load is shifted from the original pallet onto the bridge plate, and then onto the blade plate positioned on the destination pallet.
  • Throughout the load transfer operation, a mechanical bumper on the conveyor provides lateral support to the original pallet. This prevents any undesired pallet movement or displacement during the pallet change cycle.
  • Ultimately, the wooden pallet bearing the load is transported from the roll conveyor to the output roll conveyor and then onto the customer’s logistic line for further processing and distribution.
